The PDF translation Dilema

In my years of experience we have encountered many challenges into the conversion of documentation from one language to the next, but nothing has been more complex like the PDF challenge. We had seen an increase in the amount of different third party software utilize to create the native source for translation files. The problems start when the final assembled final product is put together and converted into PDF. Now, we have a final product that is hard to alter and driving everyone crazy since some of these files experience many difficulties when you try to crack them for translation. Misplaced images, chopped wording are just some of the challenges. Please keep in mind that even there are good products out there to do the cracking like ABBYY, Nuance, Adobe Series, the original will never have the same resolution. Therefore, try to find the native files otherwise you may have to unveil the ugly truth of telling your client that they also need to do a desk publishing job.
